Usable Creative launched another new site this week. This project was for Gibson Gruenert, a law firm located in both Lafayette, Louisiana and Houston, Texas. We really enjoyed working on this project with Paul Gibson and Lynette Blackburn; their organization made the project come together seamlessly.
The Design
The design for this site is simply stunning. We featured local landmarks, like the Lafayette courthouse, as well as rural and cosmopolitan scenery that represented both south Louisiana and Texas. We topped that with a bright punch of orange that compliments pictures and highlights text. This site is informative while remaining clean and refreshing. My favorite page is the Our Attorneys page. The clean layout that is picture driven is striking. Contrary to popular belief, directories do not have to be boring!
The Functionality
This site features an RSS feed that pulls news headlines from The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and CNN. RSS is a great option for Gibson Gruenert, who does not have regular information updates to their site. The RSS feed is an automatic information update that is readily accepted by search engines, giving Gibson Gruenert credit in the eyes of Google. Additionally, we created a Web App through Adobe Business Catalyst called Firm News. This web app gives Gibson Gruenert the ability to quickly add news headlines of their own.
