First things first, what is RSS? RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. RSS sends news headlines based on a specific topic directly to your website. Added bonus: the news clips are regularly added to and adjusted on a regular basis.
Benefits
1.RSS attracts unique visitors.
Appraiser Associates (pictured above^) uses RSS to stream mortgage rate averages. Let’s say Suzie Jones Googles mortgage rates and finds Appraiser Associates. Suzi may not have been directly looking for Appraiser Associaties, but now she knows updated mortgage rates as well as a superior local appraiser!
2.RSS is easy to change.
Moncla (pictured above^^) streams RSS news stories from Rig Zone, which publishes headlines about oil industry action across the globe. Say Moncla wants to add more streamed information to their site. All they need to do is add a second feed for another source, maybe The New York Times Energy News.
3. RSS news is easy to scan and read.
Look at both examples above. Rather than listing entire news stories, RSS just lists headlines. To read more information, you would simply click the headlines to go to the outside source that displays the full story.
RSS & SEO
Too many abbreviations? Breathe, it’s all very simple. RSS constantly provides new content, and search engines love new content. The search engines recognize the fresh content, giving your website a better ranking.
